Our Safety Commitment
Chrysnest was created specifically for domestic violence survivors. Every decision we make puts your safety first.
Our Promise to You
Trauma-Informed Design
We work with DV advocates and survivors to ensure our app is supportive, not triggering. Calm colors, gentle language, and thoughtful interactions throughout.
Privacy by Design
We collect only what's necessary. No real names required. No photos. No location tracking. Your privacy is protected by default, not as an afterthought.
Zero-Knowledge Messaging
Messages are encrypted end-to-end. We cannot read your conversations, and neither can anyone who might gain access to our servers.
Community Safety
Robust reporting and blocking features. We take every report seriously and act quickly to remove harmful users from the platform.
Safety Features in Action
Quick Exit
One tap instantly closes the app and clears recent activity. Your safety comes first in any situation.
PIN Required
Every time you open the app, you'll need your PIN. No one can access your account without it.
Discreet App Icon
Choose from alternate app icons that don't reveal the app's purpose at a glance.
Hidden Notifications
Notifications never show the app name or message content - just "You have a new message."
If You're in Danger
If you are in immediate danger, please call 911. Chrysnest includes built-in crisis resources that work offline, including national and provincial helplines.

- Take your time. There's no rush. Get to know potential roommates through messaging before meeting in person.
- Meet in public first. When you're ready to meet, choose a busy public place like a coffee shop.
- Tell someone. Let a trusted friend or family member know where you're going and when.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is. You can block and report any user at any time.
- Verify before committing. Meet multiple times before signing any agreements or moving in together.
